53rd crash in Wonju, Gangwon-do...a large number of casualties

On the national highway in Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, where a heavy snow warning was issued, about 50 cars collided one after another on their way home from work.

At around 5:50 p.m. today, a snow car crash occurred on the national road near Manjong Intersection in Manjong-ri, Hodger-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do.

Fire authorities believe 53 vehicles have been involved in a series of crashes so far, and all traffic on both sides of the road has been blocked in the aftermath of the accident.

Fortunately, no one died, and 119 rescuers moved at least seven people who escaped from the vehicle to a nearby hospital.

Currently, a heavy snow warning has been issued in Wonju, Gangwon-do, and police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident after the scene is recovered.
