Former Kia Motors President Park Han-woo, who was acquitted in the first trial after being put on trial for illegally dispatching in-house subcontractors to the automobile production process, was convicted in an appeal trial.

The Suwon District Court overturned the original ruling that acquitted former President Park of violating the Dispatched Workers Protection Act and sentenced him to a fine of 20 million won.

The first trial's ruling, which sentenced the accomplice, the Hwaseong plant manager, to a fine of 10 million won, remained the same.

The appeals court judged that Park, the CEO, did not change the management policy for workers of in-house suppliers and that it was recognized that he was intentionally involved in the implementation, saying that it could be evaluated that A continued to use workers through the delegated authority.
