Among Korea's representative marine products, 'Kim' cannot be left out.

However, seaweed is also bearing the brunt of the climate crisis.

[Kim Jung-hwan / Kim Western Fishermen] The water temperature should be around 25 degrees. I drew it at 25 degrees, but if the water temperature suddenly rises and becomes 26 degrees or 27 degrees, all attached seeds will be eliminated.

In the United States, seaweed is popular as a snack for its spicy and salty taste.

Recently, even 'frozen kimbap' has become popular, and seaweed exports have gained wings.

As the weather became chilly, the bite harvest began in earnest.

In commemoration of this, a first-time sushi ceremony and a fish wish ceremony were held to buy fish.

[Kim Gil-dong / Head of Suhyup in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do: I went to the first sale ceremony with the feeling that the seaweed will survive a little bit as the warm weather gets colder.]

As Jeollanam-do intensively fosters laver as a representative strategic industry, such as distant sea farming, the parliament is also supporting it.

[Kim Moon-soo / Chairman of the Agriculture, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Committee: In order to strategically foster the seaweed industry in Jeollanam-do, we set a service cost of 300 million won for the first time and commissioned Seoul National University to take the first step toward intensively developing the Jeonnam industry in the future.]

In Sinan, Jeollanam-do, which pursues premium such as gopchang laver, sales of laver are about 120 billion won,
As the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries expands its aquaculture permit area amid the
K-food craze, laver is expected to settle more firmly as a stable and high-income source for fishermen.
