Yonsei University, which caused the so-called 'the controversy over the leakage of essays', has decided to conduct an additional test on the 8th of next month.

The maximum number of successful applicants has doubled, with the announcement that they will select all successful applicants in each of the two tests.

Yonsei University has decided to take an additional test for essay writing in the natural field for occasional applications.

It has been a month and a half since the controversy over the leakage of problems in the natural essay test on the 12th of last month.

Yonsei University said in a statement that it humbly accepts the criticism that it did not follow up quickly and apologizes to the test takers and their parents.

He also explained that it has become difficult to obtain a court judgment within a short period of time regarding the leakage of essays, and that he has decided to conduct an additional test, or the second test.

The second test will be held on the 8th of next month, and all applicants except those who failed the test will be eligible for the first test.

Yonsei University emphasized that it will select Yonsei as a successful candidate for the essay examination this year, regardless of whether it passes the first or second exam.

Originally, Yonsei University was planning to recruit 261 people through the natural essay screening for early admission, but the maximum number of successful applicants doubled to 522.

The examinees who filed the lawsuit said they did not properly acknowledge the violation of fairness, saying Yonsei University will select all 261 people for the first test and only the first-time successful candidates for the second test.

The Ministry of Education said it will take strict measures against Yonsei University, which caused confusion in entrance exams, depending on the results of future investigations.

In addition, Yonsei University's additional recruitment is due to university negligence, adding that it is possible to order a reduction in the number of recruits for the 2027 school year according to the standards for handling excess recruitment of new students.
