"The most popular national technical qualification in the recruitment market last year was a forklift driver."

According to an analysis of the most preferred national technical qualifications in the recruitment market last year by the Korea Human Resources Development Service, the "truck driver" ranked first.

Last year, there were 127,000 cases, 7.6% of the total, of hiring or preferential treatment for national technical qualifications through Employment 24, a public recruitment and job search portal.

Among them, 13.4% asked for a "truck driver", followed by 10.5% for Korean food cook, 5.4% for electricians, 5.3% for architects, and 4.9% for electric industry.

In terms of qualification utilization by sector, qualifications in the construction sector exceeded 30%, followed by electricity and electronics (18.3%) and food service (10.9%).

The items with the highest demand for hiring by qualification level were quality control for technician grade, cooking for skill set grade, electricity for engineer and industrial engineer grade, forklift operation for technician grade, and vocational counselor level 2.
