Chung Geun-sik, superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, met with Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, to express the burden and anxiety of the provincial office of education on the budget for free high school education.

Chung met with Lee and Kim Young-ho, chairman of the National Assembly Board of Education, at Kumho High School in Seongdong-gu, Seoul yesterday (27th) and said that if the Metropolitan Office of Education takes the government's free education budget, the financial burden of the Office of Education will increase significantly.

He explained that the government has not organized the budget for the part that the central government has been paying for due to the arrival of sunset, making the high school free education policy unstable.

If the provincial education office's budget is invested in free high school education, it will inevitably disrupt the promotion of other major education projects for students, he said, stressing that the government should give a firm belief that free high school education will be carried out without wavering in any case.
