The Associated Press reported that the U.S. government wants to lower the conscription age, which is currently 25, to 18, in order to expand the pool of combat troops in Ukraine.
The AP introduced the Biden administration's position that measures such as lowering the mobilization age are needed to make up for Ukraine's military inferiority in the third year of war since the war in 2022.
The move is interpreted as a result of the perception that Ukraine needs to take special measures to send 11,000 North Korean troops before Trump, who has pledged to end the war early, takes power.
Some analysts say that the Biden administration, which provided more than 78 trillion won to Ukraine after the war, felt the limit that it would be difficult to change the situation by expanding the supply of weapons without expanding the number of troops.
