said in a text message, "Recently, there have been a series of 'no-show' crimes that impersonate themselves as soldiers and do not appear after ordering about 50 servings of food," adding, "Business owners should be extra careful as damage cases continue to be reported through police stations."
Chungju Police Station is investigating the damage caused by no-show in four to five restaurants in the jurisdiction, including a rice soup restaurant, over the past month.The impersonator of a
military officer ordered using different phone numbers for each restaurant, and police are considering the possibility of using a cannon phone.
A police official advised, "In order to prevent damage caused by the no-show, we need to ask for advance payments when ordering a group," adding, "We need to be careful as similar damage is continuing."
