Chung Ki-seok, chairman of the National Health Insurance Corporation, said, "We are operating without much damage because our salary expenditure has not increased yet this year."

Chairman Chung said in a press conference yesterday, "It is the first time since the establishment of the corporation that the health insurance premium has been frozen for two consecutive years, but this year's salary expenditure has not increased, offsetting the freeze, and there is no damage to the spending."

In addition, 2.6 trillion won was spent on hospital advance payments from the health insurance to resolve the medical gap, and 600 to 700 billion won was provided in relation to the emergency medical system, and he explained that it is currently operating well because the salary claim is not the same as before.

When asked if the finances would be okay even if the parliamentary conflict continued, he answered that there would be no problem with spending because a lot of senior general hospitals have revived, and excessive consumption has decreased significantly in tertiary hospitals.

Chairman Chung said that the main problem is the fee per medical practice, adding that there is an unreasonable part and a major reform should be made.
