Heavy snow in the Seoul metropolitan area has led to a surge in auto insurance accidents.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Hyundai Marine & Marine Insurance, and KB Insurance received 8,556 car accidents yesterday (27th), up 66.6% from the daily average in November last year.

The number of emergency dispatches was 48,801, 30.5% more than the daily average in November last year.

The surge in the number of accidents and dispatches is attributed to the increase in car breakdowns due to sudden heavy snow and the increase in traffic accidents due to freezing.
