The Seoul Central District Court today (28th) sentenced CEO Kim, who was charged with violating the Trade Union Act, to six months in prison and two years of probation, to a fine of 8 million won.
The court pointed out that the user's remarks blocking the union from joining the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions violated its independence by interfering with the union's autonomous operation using the user's superior position.
However, two of the eight conciliatory remarks that the first trial found guilty were acquitted, saying, "I expressed my personal opinion to the union conversation party to be careful about joining a higher-level organization."CEO Kim
was accused of coaxing or urging the union to give up when it tried to join the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in April 2018, when he was the head of Lotte Duty Free's support division.
