Following the Australian House of Representatives, the Senate also passed the world's first bill to ban teenagers under the age of 16 from using social media.

On the 28th local time, the Australian Senate passed a bill with 34 votes in favor and 19 against imposing fines of up to 50 million Australian dollars and 45.3 billion won in our money if platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X, and Instagram fail to prevent minors from holding accounts.

Social media platforms must come up with a way to implement the age limit for a year before the fine goes into effect.
