Busan International Children's Book Fair Opens..."To the global children's content platform"

The Busan International Children's Book Fair opened with a four-day schedule with 190 publishers from 16 countries participating.

This is the first time in Korea that a book fair that only deals with content related to children's books is held.

Reporter Park Soon-pyo's report.

Children's books from the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia filled the exhibition hall with nearly 3,000 pyeong.

Children fell in love with reading among the most stylish books.

If you listen to the story directly from the author and participate in various experience events, you will quickly become close to the book.

The Busan International Children's Book Fair, which will be held for the first time this year, has organized various book exhibitions and experience programs under the theme of [Laputa], an imaginary country from Gulliver's Travels.

There are 193 participating publishers in 16 countries.

[Kim Ji-eun, professor of Seoul National University of Arts / curator of the theme exhibition: I don't think there are any children at the Seoul International Book Fair, so we felt very sad and sorry. But now I'm happy to tell the child to come to the Busan International Children's Book Fair.

As it is the first children's book exhibition in Korea, famous Korean writers in the field of children's literature and picture books meet readers without fail.

Famous foreign writers from Italy, Switzerland, and Taiwan also visited Busan.

The Bologna International Children's Book Fair in Italy boasts its reputation and scale as one of the world's top three book fairs, along with London and Frankfurt, which deal with adult books.

Our children's literature has also risen to the world's level, but the market recession is prolonged due to low birthrates.

The publishing industry and the Busan Metropolitan Government plan to provide various support so that the Busan International Children's Book Fair can become a window for our children's literature to advance into the world.
