97 kindergartens, elementary, middle and high schools in Gyeonggi Province were closed due to heavy snow.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education said 97 kindergartens, elementary, middle and high schools in Gyeonggi Province were closed as of 8 a.m. today (29th) due to heavy snow in the Gyeonggi area until yesterday (28th).

In addition, 147 kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools adjusted their school hours.

The provincial education office explained that kindergartens, elementary, middle and high schools, which have adjusted their school hours, are mainly concentrated in southern Gyeonggi Province, such as Suwon and Hwaseong, where heavy snow damage is concentrated.

Earlier, the provincial education office said yesterday that it is concerned about safety accidents due to heavy snow and falling temperatures, and urged schools at all levels to close down and operate an emergency contact network to understand the safety situation.
