[Incheon] 330,000 people participated in the signature campaign for the second Gyeongin Line in Incheon.

Namdong-gu and Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, said more than 330,000 people participated in the signature campaign urging the early promotion of the second Gyeongin Line construction project.

It was counted that 194,240 people participated in Namdong-gu and 143,445 people participated in Yeonsu-gu.

The two municipalities will deliver their signatures to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance next month.

The construction project of the 2nd Gyeongin Line, which connects southern Incheon and western Seoul, was once on the verge of collapse as the precondition for the project, the relocation of the Guro Vehicle Base Gwangmyeong, was canceled due to residents' opposition.

However, in February last year, Incheon City planned and proposed an alternative route except for the relocation of the Guro vehicle base, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is reviewing the feasibility of the project.
