Opposition lawmakers propose special investigation request for 'prosecution special activity expenses'

Rep. Jang Kyung-tae of the Democratic Party of Korea, Rep. Hwang Un-ha of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, and Rep. Jongho Yoon of the Progressive Party jointly proposed a special prosecutor's investigation request to investigate the alleged misuse of prosecution's special activity expenses and concealment of information.

They held a press conference at the National Assembly, claiming that the prosecution regularly executed special activity expenses regardless of confidential investigations, and that the prosecutor general and others used them like "ssamjit money."

The prosecution then stressed that it is difficult to investigate the allegations fairly and that it hopes to form a standing special prosecutor candidate recommendation committee after reviewing the investigation request as soon as possible.
