Choi Moon-soon, a former Gangwon Province instructor who is suspected of professional malpractice in the process of creating Legoland in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, is being summoned by the prosecution.

The Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office said it has been investigating former Governor Choi as a suspect since 1:30 p.m. today (29th).

Former Governor Choi is suspected of causing damage by ordering Gangwon Midway Development Corporation, which was in charge of the project during the Legoland construction project in 2018, to provide 80 billion won to Merlin, England.

At the same time, Gangwon Province's rental income has been reduced from 30.8% to 3% and is suspected of causing damage to Gangwon Province by being involved in the process of increasing the amount of debt guarantees from 21 billion won to 205 billion won without obtaining a resolution from the provincial council in 2014.

Governor Choi was previously accused by civic groups of breach of trust, abuse of authority, and dereliction of duty, and while the Gangwon Police Agency was investigating, the prosecution, which was investigating similar details, demanded the case be sent and took over the records related to the case.

On the 12th, the prosecution secured data related to the Legoland construction project, including a search and seizure of the Gangwon-do Audit Committee, the Investment Promotion Division, and the Cultural Heritage Division.
