Even if you are older, you will be able to apply for adoption if you have enough parenting skills.

Ahead of the reform of the adoption system next year, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced legislative amendments to the Enforcement Decree of the Special Adoption Act, the Enforcement Decree of the International Adoption Act, and the Child Welfare Act.

The revision of the Special Adoption Act and the Child Welfare Act included the removal of the age limit so that adoptive parents can apply for adoption if they have the ability to raise them even if they are old.

Now, those who are 25 years old or older and whose age difference is within 60 years of age have been granted foster care, but the amendment has removed the upper age limit.

In addition, the inspection of safe parenting environments has been further strengthened so that people living with foster parents have no criminal history at the same level as foster parents.

International adoption also examined the adaptation of adoptive parents and adoptions for a year and specified a system of cooperation between countries for the preparation and confirmation of child adaptation reports.

The legislative notice is until January 10 next year, and it will be applied in line with the enforcement of the law on July 19 next year after collecting opinions.
