The Korean Medical Association, which is participating in the Yeouido Council, which deals with resolving legislative conflicts, has tentatively concluded to stop participating in the council.

The Korean Medical Association discussed whether to continue to participate in the consultative body at an executive meeting this morning and decided to leave.

If there is no change in the government's attitude, the council will end its activities with the last meeting of the Yeouido Council scheduled the day after tomorrow.

However, we decided to coordinate our positions with the Korean Medical University and Medical Graduate Association, which entered the consultative body together, and announce the final conclusion.

The medical association, consisting of dean of medical schools nationwide, will hold an online meeting from 7 p.m. this evening to collect opinions on whether to continue participating in the consultative body.

The Yeouido Council was launched on the 11th and held three meetings, but it continued to be idle, confirming only a sharp difference in position in adjusting the number of medical schools next year.

In the meantime, criticism from the medical community grew as representative Han Dong-hoon supported the establishment of the Gyeongbuk National Medical University.

The emergency committee of the Korean Medical Association officially asked the two organizations to withdraw from the council yesterday, saying that the council is nothing more than an alibi.
