The Seoul Administrative Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff today (29th) in the first trial of a lawsuit filed by Aekyung Industrial against the Korea Environmental Research and Extension Services, asking for the cancellation of the additional 10.7 billion won in contributions.
The court judged that the Korea Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology could not be considered to have legally calculated additional contributions.
Earlier, the Ministry of Environment imposed contributions on responsible companies such as Oxy, Aekyung Industrial, and SK Chemicals under the Humidifier Sterilizer Damage Relief Act.
Since then, when the contribution was exhausted, the Ministry of Environment re-imposed the contribution in February last year, and Aekyung Industrial filed an administrative lawsuit on the grounds that it was unfair not to specify the total amount and number of contributions in the special law.
