Climate paid leave was introduced in Spain, which was heavily damaged by heavy flooding late last month.

The Spanish government approved a system that allows workers to take up to four days of paid leave in the event of a natural disaster or severe weather event on the 28th local time.

According to the report, workers can be given paid leave for up to four days if they go to work or are unable to use the road due to authorities' recommendations or restrictions on travel.

Spain's labor minister, Yolanda Díaz, said the move was aimed at ensuring no workers were at risk during the climate emergency and that people should refrain from moving if a risk warning was issued.

At least 230 people were killed in Spain late last month when heavy rains poured into the southeastern region, mainly in the province of Valencia, and the government was heavily criticized for its slow response, which often killed them on their way to and from work.
