Medical organizations that have participated in the Yeouido Council to resolve legislative conflicts are expected to withdraw from the council.

The Korean Medical Association discussed whether to continue participating in the consultative body at an executive meeting this morning (29th) and decided to suspend its activities.

If there is no change in the government's attitude, the last meeting of the Yeouido Council scheduled for the day after tomorrow (1st) will be withdrawn from the council.

The Korean Medical University and Medical Graduate Association also held an online dean's meeting this evening (29th) to collect opinions on the suspension of the consultative body.

Like the medical society, there was a strong tendency to withdraw from the consultative body, and the two organizations are expected to announce a joint statement shortly after the general meeting on the 1st.

If the Medical Association and the Medical Association officially announce their withdrawal, the Yeouido Council, which was launched on the 11th after twists and turns, will be at a crossroads in less than a month.

So far, the Yeouido Council has held three full meetings, but it has remained idle, confirming only a sharp difference in position in adjusting the number of medical schools next year.

The emergency committee of the Korean Medical Association officially asked the two organizations to withdraw from the consultative body yesterday (28th), saying that the council is only for alibi purposes.
