Lee Ki-heung of the Korea Sports Association and Chung Mong-kyu of the Korea Football Association will run in January next year despite all-out pressure from the government.

We are choosing "My Way" over the cold public opinion, but what will happen to the chairmen's fate?

Reporter Cho Eun-ji took a look.

[Lee Ki-heung / President of the Korea Sports Council] (Last month, the 13th) : It's a little difficult to say now.]

[Jung Mong-gyu / President of the Korea Football Association] (National Assembly last September): We will open up all possibilities and make a decision after careful consideration.]

Although he still has not officially announced his candidacy, Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korea Sports Council, and Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, are both in the process of seeking a second term.

It played a role in the development of physical education for a long time, and the biggest reason is that he cannot leave because he is branded as a disgrace.

In front of the Olympic Hall, a hunger strike by a rival candidate urging Lee Ki-heung not to run, is in full swing, and the views of the political community and public are also cold.

However, the electors who will cast one vote predict the current chairmen's dominance for a variety of reasons, including the long-established "active premium," the competitiveness of their opponents, and their antipathy to government pressure in all directions.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has threatened not to recognize them even if they are elected in the election in January next year, but

[Yu Inchon / Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism] (National Audit last October): We may not approve it. You might need an administrative lawsuit.]

In that case, the court battle will continue for a long time, so it's frustrating inside. In the end, the fate of the

'lookalike presidents' is expected to depend on the investigation situation.

Chairman Lee Ki-heung was suspended from his job on various charges of misconduct, and when he started the third term process, the Board of Audit and Inspection launched a special audit the next day.

The prosecution is looking at a service contract worth 7.4 billion won with the search and seizure of Jincheon Training Center as a signal, and the police are also targeting Chairman Lee on charges of hiring irregularities and embezzlement.

Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Ethics, demanded disciplinary action one after another, and was also subject to a special audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection.

The government seems to expect them to stand on the investigative agency's photo line before the election and even take judicial action, but at the same time, it is also feared that there will be a headwind of violating autonomy beyond reform and purification of the sports community.
