Heavy rains in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia caused flooding, killing 12 people.

Cyclones have made landfall in southern India, sowing heavy rain, and flights at Chennai airport have also been suspended.

The pouring rain filled the streets with muddy water.

The swollen water has risen to the knees, and residents who have not been able to avoid it wait for rescue teams to come or drain from the second floor.

The heaviest flooding in more than a decade has hit southern Thailand.

A newborn baby was rescued from a house isolated by floodwaters.

Heavy rains in southern Thailand and neighboring Malaysia in recent days have led to a series of deaths.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced in both countries.

Heavy rain fell in southern India as the cyclone made landfall.

[Narayanan Sarma / Indian Authority official: We have made sufficient preparations in advance. Residents of vulnerable areas were moved to safe shelters in advance.

Chennai airport operations were also affected by the storm.

As the sea level warmed by the climate crisis spews more moisture, storm intensity is increasing and precipitation is increasing, experts warn.
