Trump said on Truth Social on Thursday that he was happy to nominate Charles Kushner as the nominee for the U.S. ambassador to France, saying he is a great industry leader, philanthropist and negotiator, and a strong advocate of U.S. interests.
Charles Kushner is the father of Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who was indicted in 2004 on charges of tax evasion, providing illegal campaign funds and false testimony, and is expected to be controversial during the Senate confirmation process.
In the past, Kushner was found to have set up hidden cameras and bought prostitution women to have sex because his brother-in-law, William Schulder, made statements against him.
Trump pardoned 26 of his aides, including Charles Kushner, about a month before he left office during his first term in office.
