North encourages completion of this year's task...emphasis on building local factories

North Korea has encouraged its executives to follow this year's economic plan without a hitch at the end of the year.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, made the order today (1st) with an editorial on its front page titled "This year's struggle goal is revolutionary work that is determined to execute unconditionally before the party and the people."

The newspaper said that it is not long before the end of this year's struggle, which began with the confidence and generosity of a must-win, and emphasized the importance of construction tasks for balanced regional development.

North Korea is pursuing the "Local Development 20×10 (20 wins) Policy" and plans to build modern industrial plants in 20 counties every year to raise the standard of living for residents to a new level within 10 years.
