LG Chem's Naju plant has decided to stop producing alcohol used as a petrochemical raw material.

LG Chem's Naju plant decided to stop the alcohol production line and held a briefing session on relocation for employees.

With this decision, alcohol production will be unified to LG Chem Yeosu plant.

LG Chem's Naju plant has been producing acrylic acid and adhesives, including alcohol, but it stopped producing acrylic acid in December last year due to the worsening petrochemical market.

LG Chem explained the background that it is difficult to secure competitiveness due to high logistics costs to export products produced at the Naju plant.
