With huge amounts of money flocking to the virtual asset market such as Bitcoin recently, YTN will start a series of reports today that point to the actual conditions and countermeasures of virtual asset investment.

A number of coins named after Trump appeared on overseas virtual asset exchanges, with a market capitalization exceeding 200 trillion won.It even plunged to 500 million won in a few minutes.

By the way, this coin could only be bought and sold.

Reporter Yang Dong-hoon reports exclusively.

A, who lives in Seoul, found a coin called "American True Hero" while looking at overseas sites for coin investment.

Even though it is not directly related to Trump, it has attracted investors by using the unit 1 Trump, not 1 Coin, and posting messages supporting Trump on X and old Twitter.

Mr. A, who put in 100,000 won with a light heart, tried to make a profit by selling it again when the price rose significantly, but it was impossible to sell it.

[Mr. A/ Informant: I pressed the button to sell, and the activation was blocked. I can buy it, but I can't sell it.]

Since then, the price has soared several times every day, and the money stamped on Mr. A's coin wallet has exceeded the billion mark.

The Trump coin once hit a market cap of 240 trillion won, rising more than a million times in a week.

Compared to companies listed on the domestic stock market, Samsung Electronics is just behind.

However, the market capitalization fell from 240 trillion won to 500 million won in just a few minutes,
Mr. A's coin holdings, which once increased to 370 million won at
, decreased to 700 won.

But I couldn't sell it, so I was helpless.

[Mr. A/ Informant: At first, I thought it was a hack.... I was just looking at it, but it suddenly evaporated in front of my eyes.]

The "Crypto Emper Trump" coin, which first appeared on the 13th, once rose to KRW 1,300 per unit, but it became KRW 0.005 in just about 10 minutes.

In this situation, some point out that there is a suspicion of an "autobiographical transaction" that buys and sells coins internally and only puffs up prices.

[Hong Blue / Lawyer] (The market price) went up without falling down the stairs and then fell at once. I strongly suspect that the coin was made for the purpose of fraud.

There are about 50 so-called "Trump coins" that come out when you search for Trump's name on the overseas coin information site "Coin Market Cap."

Most of them are small coins that are not listed on major exchanges, making it difficult to identify who issued them for what purpose, technical grounds or how they operate.

[Hong Ki-hoon / Hongik University Business School Professor: Since Trump was elected, Trump-related 'meme coins' have been on the rise. There are coins that are not listed, so they are bound to be in the regulatory square....]

Experts advise you to carefully look at the white paper that explains not only market fluctuations but also the characteristics of the coin's technology background, as you can suffer damage from buying the coin incorrectly using Trump's name.
