Government "An Opposition Party's proposal to reduce the amount, aggravating our economic risks...Economic support for people's livelihoods has been disrupted."

The government said that the opposition party's single reduction plan will further increase risks to our economy and disrupt the government's support plan for people's livelihoods and the local economy.

The government announced the government's position on the problem of the opposition party's sole reduction plan earlier today, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and the Minister of Health and Welfare attending.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sang-mok said the opposition's single-handed reduction plan would add to the risks to the nation's economy, which is in a more severe situation than ever due to external uncertainty.

Amid strong internal and external challenges such as intensifying protection trade and supply chain instability following the launch of a new U.S. government, the opposition party said it was unreasonable to enforce the reduction budget and stressed that the damage would be entirely to the people and businesses.

The government's plan to support people's livelihoods and local economies, which are still struggling, also feared disruptions were inevitable.

The opposition has also cut representative projects to improve social mobility, such as youth leaping accounts, college student work scholarships, youth work experience and the formation of low-income children's assets, while also cutting budgets for child care and medical reforms closely related to people's lives, Choi said.

It also said it was concerned about major disruptions to its response by cutting the cost of confidential investigations into drug crimes, which have increased 1.5 times in the past three years, and deepfake crimes, which have increased five times.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi stressed that as the confirmation of the national budget is an important decision that has huge implications for people's lives, the national economy as a whole and various parts of the country, it is a desirable budget-making process that the people want to reach an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.

The opposition party said it is urging the government to withdraw its single-handed reduction plan, which is unprecedented in constitutional history, and engage in sincere negotiations.
