From May next year, those who have not completed military service will be able to receive a 10-year multiple certificate.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will announce legislation for 40 days to revise the Enforcement Decree of the Passport Act, which includes removing the passport validity limit for those who have not completed military service.

The revision will take effect on May 1 next year, and will benefit those who have not completed military service as military service and supplementary service, and alternative service and boarding service reserve, which are currently subject to the issuance of multiple five-year passports.

It has been pointed out that the current passport law limits the validity period of the passport for those who are not active in military service to five years, which has been criticized as discrimination.
