From the beginning of next year, self-driving trucks will be able to drive on the highway with their luggage.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has designated six new self-driving vehicle pilot zones that are subject to regulatory special cases for research and pilot driving using self-driving cars, especially this time, highways.The autonomous driving test zone on the

expressway is a 358km section of Gyeongbu and Jungbu expressways in Okcheon and Jeungpyeong areas, and it will be possible to operate autonomous cargo transportation here in the future.

In particular, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Gyeongju section of the existing demonstration area has been expanded this time, allowing visitors to enjoy autonomous driving at the APEC summit in October next year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said.
