The presidential office held a 'Pan-Government Core Infrastructure Security Council' in the second half of this year at the National Intelligence Service today (2nd) and discussed the management and protection of the national core infrastructure.

Participants from 13 related agencies first discussed maritime wind facility security threats and countermeasures, and shared concerns about the drone industry's excessive external dependence, the president's office explained.

It also said it discussed the safety and security of submarine communication cables as demand for international information and communication data surged.

The meeting, presided over by Wang Yoon-jong, the third deputy director of the National Security Office, was attended by 13 organizations related to the management and protection of key infrastructure in the country, including the National Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense.

The president's office promised to continue to operate the council at all times to fundamentally cut off threats to national infrastructure.

The Pan-Government Core Infrastructure Security Council is a conference body launched on May 28 to identify and manage key infrastructure at the national level and respond to security threats by the presidential office and related agencies.
