The prosecution's internal opposition is rising as the impeachment of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is imminent.

If the impeachment bill is passed, the work of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office will inevitably be disrupted due to the absence of the command.

The impeachment bill against Lee Chang-soo, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Cho Sang-won, the fourth prosecutor, and Choi Jae-hoon, the second head of the anti-corruption investigation, is only set to vote at the National Assembly plenary session.

The prosecution's opposition to this is also growing.

Following the deputy chief, the chief prosecutor, and the deputy chief prosecutor, the rank-and-file prosecutors also issued a statement and protested that attempting to impeach the prosecution for investigating and disposing of certain cases risks undermining the independence and neutrality of the prosecution.

It is unfair that the impeachment is being pursued for reasons that do not fit the purpose of being the last resort to respond to serious constitutional and legal violations. The Minister of Justice, who wanted to impeach him at least

, has repeatedly expressed his opposition.

[Park Sung-jae / Minister of Justice: I think it's illegal to pursue impeachment just because they came up with a case that is different from their opinion.]

If the unprecedented impeachment bill of the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is passed, the senior deputy chief prosecutor, Park Seung-hwan, is expected to represent his duties for the time being.

As the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office handles more than 100,000 cases a year, work disruptions are inevitable due to the absence of the command.

Cho Sang-won, the 4th chief prosecutor who is subject to impeachment, is in charge of maintaining the prosecution of two trials related to Lee Jae-myung, the representative of the Democratic Party of Korea,
The allegations of Baekhyeon-dong
and Seongnam FC bribery are also cases that Lee and Deputy Prosecutor Cho investigated together at the Seongnam Branch Office in the past.

In addition to the investigation into the money envelope case of the National Convention involving a number of former and current lawmakers of the Democratic Party of Korea, the investigation is also underway into crimes committed by people's livelihoods, including large-scale unsettled cases of Timon and Wemakeff.

Amid the extreme conflict between the opposition party and the prosecution, there are also concerns that the vacuum in the command following impeachment could lead to delays in investigating and processing various public livelihood cases.
