The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters said it had received 1,094 cases of deepfake sex crimes by the 30th of last month and arrested 573 people this year.
By age, 463 teenagers accounted for more than 80% of all suspects, and 94 boys and 16.4% were under the age of 10.
Since August 28, when the intensive crackdown on deepfake began, 649 cases have been reported, with seven cases a day, and the police plan to continue the intensive crackdown until March 31 next year.
