U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has named Warren Stephens, CEO of a financial services company in Arkansas, as his nominee for the U.S. ambassador to the U.K.

Trump announced on social media Truth Social on the 2nd local time that he would appoint Stephens as ambassador to Britain, calling her "one of the most successful businessmen in the country."

"Over the past 38 years as chairman, board chairman and CEO, Warren has built a great financial services company and has selflessly given back to the community as a philanthropist," Trump continued."Warren has always dreamed of serving the United States full-time," he said, adding, "I am excited that he will represent the United States in America's most important and beloved ally as a top diplomat."

Stevens, the head of financial services company "Stevens," funded a campaign against Trump during the 2016 presidential election, but donated more than 3 million dollars to a super pack (a political fundraising organization) that supports Trump during the 2020 presidential election and about 4.2 billion won in our money.

Even ahead of the presidential election, U.S. media reported that he has donated more than $1 million to superpacks supporting Trump.
