Expanded Incheon Airport Starts Full Operation Today

Incheon International Airport, which has a capacity of 100 million people per year due to large-scale expansion work, has begun full-scale operation today (3rd).

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that the fourth phase of construction, which cost 4.8 trillion won in an eight-year construction period from 2017, has been completed and operation began today.

Through this expansion, Incheon International Airport has newly established the 4th runway and 75 flight moorings, and expanded the second terminal building.

With the construction, Incheon International Airport has become the world's third-largest airport with an annual capacity of 106 million passengers, and its cargo handling capacity has increased to 6.3 million tons, making it the world's second-largest air logistics capacity.

In addition, the "smart pass" system using AI and biometric recognition has made identification easier without the need to repeatedly present passports and boarding passes, and the automatic security search system has made it possible to provide the world's best immigration speed.

In addition, it also introduced kiosks that can be adjusted in height and operate autonomous driving means for the transportation weak to move in the terminal regularly.
