Hegseth was president of a group called Veterans Concerned About America before hosting Fox News in 2017.
According to a report written by former officials of the group, Hegseth was drunk during work hours and sometimes had to be removed from events, the New Yorker said.
The report also included that it created a hostile work environment by flirting with female employees and ignoring reports of sexual violence.
Separately, Hegseth is also suspected of sexually assaulting a woman he met at a Republican women's party event in 2017 and then paying a large sum of money to the victim on the condition that the case is not disclosed.
