The U.S. House of Representatives' Special Subcommittee on the Investigation of the Coronavirus Pandemic says the virus likely leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The Republican-led committee concluded in a 520-page final report released on the 2nd local time, saying the biological nature of the coronavirus is different from that found in nature.

It also pointed out that in the fall of 2019, before the coronavirus outbreak, staff at Wuhan's virus lab had already shown similar symptoms, and that no other scientific evidence had been found that the virus originated in nature.

Whether the coronavirus came from nature or leaked from laboratories has not been concluded in the United States, with different institutions expressing different positions.

The report also found that there is no scientific basis for measures that are considered effective in preventing the spread of infection, such as mandatory masks and social distancing.

On the other hand, the rapid vaccine development policy "Warp Speed" promoted by the Trump administration at the time was evaluated as a tremendous success.
