Yoon and Kyrgyz President Sadir Zafarov adopted a joint statement at the summit today (3rd), agreeing to elevate bilateral relations to a comprehensive partnership after 32 years of diplomatic relations.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue, exchange and cooperation between the two Koreas, and Kyrgyzstan said it supports South Korea's "Bold Initiative" and the "August 15 Unification Doctrine."
The joint statement included 28 provisions aimed at developing bilateral relations, including welcoming memorandums of understanding in each field.
In the wake of the summit, the two countries signed 10 documents, including the Trade and Investment Promotion Framework (TIPF), a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the energy sector and key minerals, and a framework agreement for cooperation in climate change.
The president's office said that this visit strengthened relations with the Kyrgyz Republic, setting the stage for the "Korea-Central Asia K Silk Road Cooperation Initiative."
