Icheon City also proposes to declare a special disaster zone for 'heavy snow damage'

Icheon City said it has proposed that the government declare it a special disaster area as heavy snow from the 26th to the 28th of last month caused enormous damage.

As of 3 p.m. the previous day (2nd), the amount of damage reported in the jurisdiction was tentatively estimated at 28.8 billion won.

The damage was concentrated in the agricultural and livestock fields such as greenhouses, livestock, and ginseng cultivation facilities.

The total amount of damage is expected to increase further as heavy snow damage will be entered into the National Disaster Management Information System (NDMS) by the 8th.

According to Gyeonggi Province's own estimates, the amount of damage in the province caused by heavy snow last month reached 167.5 billion won in 8,903 cases as of 5 p.m. the previous day (2nd).

By local government, Pyeongtaek City was counted at more than 50 billion won and Anseong City was counted at 35 billion won, respectively.

Yongin City also suffered great damage to agricultural and livestock farms.
