A mobile application (app) that informs the date of death based on artificial intelligence (AI) has been released, which is controversial.

On the 1st (local time), IT media TechCrunch introduced the app 'Desclark', which provides a death date prediction service.

Desclock developer Brett Franson explained that AI, which has learned more than 1,200 life studies, provides more accurate results than traditional standard life tables.

In fact, when TechCrunch used the app himself, it was predicted that he would die on February 28, 2074 at the age of 90.

You can enter basic information such as age, gender, and race, as well as information such as family history, mental health, and chronic diseases in the questionnaire.

The app added that maintaining better habits can extend its life span to 103 years.

Desclark is available by paying $40 (about 56,000 won) per year for a subscription. Propose habits that need to be improved or maintained to increase life expectancy as well as the expected date of death. In addition, it also provides a function that allows the user to check the remaining time until the expected death date in real time.

However, ethical controversy can also be raised as it deals with sensitive topics such as collecting and providing information related to human lifespan.

Some experts pointed out that in-depth discussions on the use and impact of the app will be needed.
