The prosecution has demanded a supplementary investigation from the police into the case of a lawyer who was sued for defamation after SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won said he spent more than 100 billion won on his housemate.

At the end of last month, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office asked the Seocho Police Station in Seoul to supplement the case of defamation by spreading false information by lawyer A.

Mr. A is the legal representative of Roh So-young, director of the art center Nabi, Choi's counterpart in the divorce suit, and was sued by Chairman Choi after telling reporters in November last year that "the amount of money that Chairman Choi spent on his housemate is more than 100 billion won since 2015."

The police sent the case to the prosecution, believing that the charges were admitted, but the prosecution reportedly decided that further investigation was needed on the grounds for A's remarks.
