Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. is also reportedly included in the Polish government's second nuclear power project contractor candidate next year.

Russia's TAS news agency reported that the plan to be announced by Poland's industry ministry by the end of this year included a timeline for the construction of the first nuclear power plant on the Baltic Sea coast, which will begin in 2028.

He also said that the U.S. Westinghouse France Electric Power Corporation (EDF) and Korea's KHNP will be mentioned as candidates for selecting a contractor for the second nuclear power plant next year.

Poland's industry ministry is also reportedly planning to consider the possibility of building a third nuclear power plant.

Poland approved the first nuclear power plant construction resolution in November 2022, spending $20 billion and about 28 trillion won on the Baltic coast of Pomeranian Voivodeship to build three nuclear power plants with the goal of operating in 2033.
