Article 4 of the martial law command proclamation (No. 1) announced by Army Chief of Staff Park An-soo on the 3rd includes "prohibiting strikes, neglect, and assembly that promote social chaos."

In fact, it is aimed at the labor community, which continues to rally by urging the resignation of President Yoon Suk Yeol, and the two umbrella unions have entered an emergency meeting late at night.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) is now gathering somewhere for its executive branch to discuss how to respond to the incident.

An official of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions said, "We are about to go on strike, but we need to discuss what to do since we are prohibiting all assembly activities," adding, "We will announce our position soon."

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions said the executive is currently sharing the situation online and will hold a countermeasure meeting somewhere in the morning.

The public transport union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, which is set to strike on the 5th and 6th, is currently meeting its leadership and will hold an emergency standing executive committee in the morning.
