First of all, immediately after the approval, Democratic Party Chairman Lee Jae-myung said that the declaration of martial law was unconstitutional and illegal, both procedurally and practically, and that it was invalid.

He then stressed that the declaration of martial law will not fall into a worse situation, but will be a decisive opportunity to break the vicious cycle and return to a normal society.

The Democratic Party also claimed that CCTV confirmed that martial law forces stormed the Democratic Party's party leader's office and tried to arrest and detain Lee.

He added that there were attempts by martial law forces to arrest Han Dong-hoon, representative of the People's Power, and Woo Won-sik, chairman of the National Assembly.

The martial law army's attempt to suppress armed forces by entering the National Assembly could be a crime of rebellion, and the government plans to review related precedents.

Cho Kuk, the leader of the Innovation Party, stressed that Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun should be impeached after the situation has been sorted out.

The Social Democratic Party and the Basic Income Party insisted that President Yoon step down immediately and hand over power peacefully,
Chun Ha-ram, floor leader of the
Reform New Party, also strongly criticized that the ruling and opposition parties should immediately proceed with impeachment and unanimously suspend President Yoon's duties.
