Regarding the declaration and lifting of emergency martial law, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "Now, President Yoon Suk Yeol is not subject to impeachment, but to arrest."

Governor Kim pointed out in a Facebook post that "President Yoon's two-hour coup pushed the country to the brink," and said, "Who should be responsible for the economy in abyss, society in chaos, and democracy that collapsed?"

Governor Kim stressed that President Yoon should be held accountable when the Korean economy fluctuated in just a few hours, saying that the decline in international creditworthiness is obvious, with the value of the won plunging and the night stock, futures and coin markets plummeting.
