Bayern Munich, where Kim Min-jae, the core of South Korea's soccer defense, played 84 minutes, was eliminated in the round of 16 of the German Professional Football Cup.

Munich lost 0–1 to Leverkusen at home in the round of 16 of the cup.

Munich dispatched all the elite members except for the top striker Kane, but it was a big blow from the beginning when veteran gatekeeper Neuer was sent off 17 minutes into the game.

Munich, which had one less player, kept scoreless in the first half by focusing on Kim Min-jae and Upamecano, but lost in the middle of the second half when they lost a point.

That left Munich, who were eliminated in the second round last season, early on in the cup, unable to beat Leverkusen, who won the Bundesliga last season in the round of 16.
