At 9:41 a.m. today (4th), a 2.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the sea near Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 34 kilometers north-northwest of Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and the depth of the epicenter was analyzed to be 7 kilometers.

The earthquake detected "Jindo 2," a level that can be felt by a few people on the upper floors of buildings or quiet conditions in Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Chungnam.

In most inland areas, such as Seoul, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan, most people cannot feel it, but the seismic system has delivered the shaking of "Jindo 1," which is recorded.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) warned that there was no damage from the earthquake, but the depth of the earthquake was low, so the shaking was detected around the nearby area.

The earthquake in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province, was the first in more than a hundred days after a 2.1-magnitude earthquake occurred on August 23.

Including this earthquake, 85 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher have occurred on the Korean Peninsula this year.
