The Gyeonggi provincial government said it has prepared emergency transportation measures to minimize inconvenience to residents in preparation for a general strike by the Korail union and the Seoul subway union.

The Korail union has announced an indefinite general strike from 9 a.m. tomorrow, and the Seoul subway union from 9 a.m. the day after tomorrow.

Gyeonggi Province has decided to set up a situation room for the emergency transportation headquarters and operate it 24 hours a day until the strike ends.

In addition, 2,141 buses to 202 routes in and out of Seoul and 450 buses to 46 city buses will be concentrated during rush hour to increase transportation power.

At the same time, 124 spare wide-area buses and 280 city buses will be deployed on routes with increased congestion rates, and chartered buses will be mobilized if necessary.

In line with the city and county situation, the village bus decided to extend the last night train by one hour and encourage taxi operations during the strike.
