In connection with the declaration and lifting of emergency martial law, local councils in Gyeonggi Province, lawyers' associations, labor and civic groups, and college students have condemned the president of Yoon Suk Yeol and demanded his resignation.

The delegation of the Democratic Party of Korea of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council held a press conference in the briefing room of the provincial council this morning and said, "The declaration of martial law was illegal for failing to comply with any requirements set by the Constitution and laws," and called for President Yoon Suk Yeol to step down immediately.

The Gyeonggi-do Provincial Bar Association also urged President Yoon to step down as president in a statement, saying, "The emergency martial law declared by President Yoon is a measure that clearly violates the constitution and laws because it does not meet its legal requirements."

"The declaration of emergency martial law, an anti-constitutional riot, was stranded by a huge stream of 'Yoon Suk Yeol resignation, social transformation' engraved on the hearts of citizens, the owner of the country," said the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions. "Let's bring down the Yoon Suk Yeol regime before taking off the calendar for 2024, which is the last chapter."
